SOMBRA'S FAMILY SUPPORT LIAISON
Hello! I'm Nancy Whalen, the Family Liaison at Sombra. This is my first year here and I have enjoyed being in an elementary school environment. I'd love to hear from you! My office is in the Administration Building, room 102, 505-291-6842, ext. 32102, nancy.whalen@aps.edu
Here at Sombra del Monte Elementary School, we recognize that when families are engaged in their children's education, our students achieve higher grades, attend school regularly, and have better social skills. Family Liaisons at APS work in the schools and community to help families get the information and assistance they need to support their children to ensure their academic success. Family Liaisons encourage family-school partnerships to help ensure their student's success and healthy development.

SOMBRA'S LOST AND FOUND
Is your child's winter coat missing? Or is your child missing his/her favorite sweatshirt, or water bottle?? We have collected many clothing items, water bottles, and lunch bags - we would love to return these items to their rightful owner....
Our Lost and Found is in Sombra's Cafeteria...that's where you'll find most everything that's been left at school this year. We welcome parents to go to the Cafeteria and collect lost items! Just sign in at the front office first! If you have any questions or are not finding your kid's items in the cafeteria, please reach out the Ms. Nancy at 505-291-6842
Reading with Finnegan
Sombra's been fortunate to be involved with Warm Heart Network where students have an opportunity to read with four legged friends. Ms. Terri's son attended Sombra and she wanted to volunteer here with Finnegan, her five year old Westie.
